Purpose of the KILT

The KILT was established to research, develop, and distribute technologies related to lighting equipment, electronic displays and their components, in order to contribute to development of lighting industry of South Korea and national competency.

  • 2001.07Acknowledged as fine accreditation body for group standards
  • 2002.07Acknowledged as evaluation institute for validation of electrical components (for lighting)
  • 2003.02Appointed as assistant administrator of International Electrotechnical Commission
  • 2006.11HQ moved to Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do province
  • 2007.03Appointed as accreditation institute for products developed by small and medium companies
  • 2009.07Appointed as Co-operating for Standard Development (COSD)
